Our History
Elk River Baptist Church was established in 1955 and for about seven years met in the local theatre basement. It was accepted into membership in the Baptist General Conference in 1958. In 1962 the original building at 1800 8th Street was constructed, and 30 feet added in 1983. Our 50th anniversary date was sometime in August 2005. An anniversary celebration was held October 2, 2005 with morning worship at the church, dinner at the Holiday Inn, and program at the church in the afternoon. Many former members attended, along with current members and attenders.
The church is a member of the Baptist General Conference (link below) but is totally autonomous.
We encourage anyone without a church home to visit us.
